Another month, another variant. As HF&G has repeatedly written: the virus is endemic, it is going to mutate for years to come. How media and WHO officials continue to panic over every variant is just fuel to every conspiracy theory out there.

Sweden, Florida and Texas are a few examples of places that have decided to live with an endemic Covid situation and move on. Unfortunately, the real world experience and data coming from these areas seems to be ignored in favor of crazy virologist models predicting doom and gloom virtually everywhere else. In the US this effort is led by Dr. Fauci. It is amusing that without any backing from the large media organizations a book about Dr. Fauci has been on the Amazon bookstore bestseller list for weeks on end. While HF&G is not endorsing the book, it is extremely well referenced about Fauci’s historical HIV work and the many questions which were raised about his integrity decades ago. His role in providing funding to a lab in Wuhan in its critical “gain-of-function” research also deserves to be under heavy scrutiny. On that note another book caught our eye: VIRAL from Matt Ridley and Alina Chan. The book raises the question if Covid escaped from a lab in Wuhan. Surprise, surprise, the book was hardly a few days old and several MSM outlets were there with scatching reviews of the book. Anyone can make up their mind of what they find most plausible but given how this pandemic has evolved over the last 20 months it would be rather foolish to blindly believe the official narrative of events.

The result of the new variant panic messaging has been several countries closing borders creating havoc for countless families’ Christmas and NY plans. Stock markets sold off aggressively on the last few days of November as vaccine efficacy was put in doubt as well. Vaccinated people were promised an end to masks, no more endless PCR testing but looks that was all a lie. You now have been double/triple vaxxed, still wear a mask and need a Covid test before you are allowed to enter a venue. On the back of this we noticed the same beneficiaries of lockdowns flying higher again: rubber glove makers, protective equipment makers, remote working companies. Next year HF&G can already see the writing on the wall of new “adjusted” vaccines being required because remember: big pharma needs to keep their profit stream going. Pfizer has just surpassed its 2000 peak and is now trading an all-time high. Do you think they are interested to keep the Covid-vaccine, jabs, sprays, pills, etc coming? Remember how it all started: flatten the curve, only 2 weeks, we are in this together, etc. Two years after this narrative started one can question how badly you have been duped in believing this.

PORTFOLIO REVIEW

As usual we have been publicly sharing stock picks since February 2020. The track record is self explanatory. Clearly our multi baggers are massively outperforming our losers by a wide margin.

This month we are not adding any new ideas as we await how high the insanity levels will go in trying to control the uncontrollable latest variant. We need to know if our playing field is one with more lockdowns and movement restrictions or not. Hopefully by late December this will be clearer.

Meanwhile we took out Taruga Minerals from our selection at a 30% loss as the junior miner is just not making the progress we had hoped.

HF&G will end on a positive note: our September 2020 pick Pc Partner has gone up over 1,000%! FY21 results in early 2022 will be epic. The dividend payment will be very large too. The question remains: how good will FY22 be? All indicators point to a tight GPU market for at least 1Q22.
